The
Costa Brava, known for its hospitality, is becoming the preferred holiday
destination for all ages.
|
L'Escala,a typical Spanish fishermen village, evolved into
one of the nicest holiday places on the Costa Brava along the
Mediterranean sea.
|
In the summer it is the place of holiday for many families from all over Europe, to
relax, to practice their favourite aquatic sport, to enjoy nature and the
local gastronomy.
Our dear retired people will find here the ideal place to live their second youth;
warm climate, nature, culture and arts all surround L'Escala.
Why
to choose L'Escala out of all the cities on the Costa Brava ? for various
reasons:
Very
easy access by road, plane (Barcelona - 150 km, Gerona - 50
km, Perpignan - 90 km and Carcassonne - 210 km), by train (T.G.V.
up to Perpignan and from 2008 to Figueras - 25 km) or by bus.

The climate is exceptional, bene-ficiating of the Mediterranean
climate and the protection of the Pyrenees. In the summer, the
temperature rises to very enjoyable levels, easily endured thanks
to the brise from the sea. In the winter we don't even know the
word « ice », being comfortably sat at a
sunny terrace with 22ºC to 23ºC around noon.
|
|
L'Escala
stays alive in winter : with a
population of 7.000 inhabitants, some of whom work all year around (the
fishermen, the shops in the old town, the 2 big supermarkets, restaurants,
real estate agents, etc. ). Others relax from the summer, enjoying well
earned holidays, and the last ones already prepare next season.

With its excellent geographical situation (1h30' to the ski resorts by car),
L'Escala is often used in winter as a starting point for one day escapades
in the mountain to ski or surf on the fresh snow.
|
|
L'Escala is situated in the heart of a rich cultural region, with Figueras and
the Dalí Museum and the Toys Museum.
Without forgetting the medieval villages of the old town of Pals, Perratallada,
and nearby San Martí, and of course the Greco-Roman ruins of Empuries (photo).

to this charming little town where you will want to stay, either for holidays,
the winter or simply to live here permanently.
L'Escala
